Peter Moffat

Peter Moffat is a double BAFTA winning screenwriter.

A former barrister, his work includes such well-known series as  ‘ Criminal Justice’ (Ben Whishaw, Pete Postlethwaite), the first UK series to be transmitted across a single week – ‘ North Square’, ‘ Kavanagh QC’, ‘ Silk’ (Maxine Peake, Rupert Penry- Jones) and most recently ‘ Undercover’ (Sophie Okonedo, Adrian Lester).

Having failed his Physics O Level Peter went on to write a BBC film,  ‘Hawking’, about the young Stephen Hawking starring a young Benedict Cumberbatch, and then ‘ Einstein and Eddington’ (David Tennant and Andy Serkis) for BBC2 about Einstein’s relativity theory.

He is currently at work on a new BBC series starring Jessica Raine, set in Aden in 1965 about the lives of Military Police men and their wives scheduled for transmission this summer, as well as  writing the screenplay based on the Guardian journalist Nick Davies’ book about his expose of the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
